Last month a group of students went to Germany to participate in a linguistic and cultural exchange with the students from a secondary school in Koblenz.
When they arrived at the Koblenz train station, they were greeted by their host families, with whom they spent the weekend. The students were fully immersed- they cooked together, went shopping and visited the city. On Monday morning everybody met up for the conference about hacking, where nearly 2000 young people were expected. Then, the students ate lunch with their hosts before visiting the castle of Marksburg in Braubach. The next day they attended classes at the school and were able to experience a day in a German school. The rest of the trip included several cultural visits, in particular “das Haus der Geschichte” (the House of History), which shows German history from 1945 until the present.
This exchange was a wonderful experience for our students. They were able to discover a new culture and make new friends. The experience will take place again next year when the German students visit Collège Champittet. Our students are already looking forward for them to come!
