Staff showcase: Stéphane Laloy

When I first arrived at Collège Champittet in 2010, I was deputy Head of the boarding house during three years, before becoming its Director until July 2017. Then I decided to take up new challenges: I am now responsible for the extracurricular activities of the primary section as well as for pastoral care for children from PS to 5th grade.

During all these years at Collège Champittet, I was lucky to share my passions with boarding students as well as to travel with them. Seeing them grow and become adults has been very moving, and it was a pleasure to accompany them. One of the best memories of my time in the boarding house was when we built a house for the inhabitants of a remote village in Vietnam. It was touching to be able to give a little bit of our time and energy to people in real need.

Today, my work in the primary section makes me discover new things. Every day, I am impressed by these very young children who want to learn, discover and understand.

Apart from Champittet, my main hobby is rugby, which I practiced for many years. I also love the mountains, be it for snowshoeing or skiing in winter, or for hiking, climbing and the via ferrata during other seasons. We are very lucky to live in a beautiful region that makes us marvel every day.
