Another successful LIS event was happened last week Friday at the Holiday Inn-Qinhuang. This event is the winter concert performed by our students and it is already a tradition to do this every December of the year to showcase what the students have been learning in music for the past 4 months in school. The event was split into 2 concerts; concert 1 is for the PK-G2 while the concert 2 is for the G3-G10.
All of the performances are impressive and it showed the focus skills for each grade level. Our SK students entertained us by singing and dancing, the G1 students impressed us by playing music letter-names on a xylophones, the G2 students amazed us by playing songs on piano, the G3 students have wowed us by playing rock music and Christmas songs on a recorder and the G4B and G4C proved to us that they can be versatile in playing guitar by performing the compositions of Gun’s and Roses and Beethoven.
Grades 3-10 were featured in the second half of the concert, with groups presenting choral and instrumental pieces ranging from holiday favorites to pop hits. Songs such as “Believe” from The Polar Express to the Pentatonix hit “That’s Christmas To Me” were sung by grade level groups, while the Intermediate/Advanced Orchestra performed selections from “The Nutcracker” and “Happy Holidays.” In addition, dance groups led by Mr. Lepp and Ms. Hwang rounded out the show, highlighting even more of the variety of arts offerings here at the school.
