Regents’ Hosted Under-13 FOBISIA Games ‘A Great Weekend’

30 March 2015

Beginning last Friday, Regents International School Pattaya hosted schools from all over Asia including International School of Penang - Uplands, Harrow International School Beijing, ELC International School Malaysia, International School Brunei, St. Andrews International School Bangkok and Dulwich College Suzhou.

Results for the Regents’ Lions went well from Friday through till Sunday finishing 1st  in boys basketball and football, 2nd in girls basketball, 2nd in Athletics for both boys and girls and finally 5th  in Swimming for both boys and girls.

Some unseasonal bad weather on the Friday meant Regents’ P.E staff had to work overtime to re-schedule some events in order to complete all of the disciplines. But Saturday came around without a hitch. All of the events held at Chonburi Athletic stadium were fanatically supported by friends, family and teachers as the medals kept flowing in almost all sports.

Sunday was the final day of the under-13 FOBISIA competition and what a competition it had become! Regents’ students did us all proud and performed out of their skins on the third day, despite the aches and pains of two previous days’ of competitions. Big congratulations to our silver winning girls’ basketball and gold winning boys football teams.

One of the best moments is completing competition and being able to mix and mingle with the other schools and their staff. This occurs at the Gala dinner and disco, which again was a well-organised event, a fantastic evening and a wonderful ending to an Incredible FOBISIA games.

P.E teacher and Regents’ FOBISIA u-13 organiser Tom Hart is very happy with the organisation of the whole event.

"The students were all 'super confident' going into the U13 FOBISIA games on home soil. The PE Department are immensely proud of all our athletes and their incredible levels of effort, determination and Regents’ resilience. They have contributed to one of the most successful Under-13 Regents teams ever! Congratulations to all our medal winners and a big thank you to all the site team, teaching staff and parents who helped make the U13 games a memorable one.”
