Dynamic Regents Gives its Students More Opportunities than Ever

With its trademark sense of adventure, Regents International School Pattaya has launched an improved co-curricular learning programme this September, one which brings the total number of activities available to students outside of school hours to an incredible 135 this term alone.

In addition to all the old favorites from across sport, the creative and performing arts, computing and community service, our 1,100 students will now be able to choose from a host of activities which they might never have considered before, like the SolidWorks 3D Design programme, Minecraft Club and even mother and daughter belly-dancing.

Regents has so much on offer that its activities are now spread over six days of the week rather than five, with both the Regents Academy and trips for boarding students taking place on a Saturday. With more than 130 well-qualified teachers working at the school, most of what is offered to Regents’ students is delivered by the staff at no extra cost to their parents. The activities which incur an extra cost are typically those which require the school to find high quality tutors and coaches from further afield – like the dancers and choreographers from the Satori Dance Company in Bangkok, which from September is working only with Regents on the Eastern Seaboard of Thailand.

The sense of dynamism at Regents is set to continue, with the school’s dedicated Extended Learning Coordinator, Darren Sipple, already lining up even more choice from January. “Keep watching, because there’s so much more to come,” commented Darren. “One of the biggest investments we made over the summer vacation was creating a new Astro-Turf and sports hall, both of which will open this October. Combine those facilities with the all-weather running track which opened last year and we’ll be taking our activities programme up another level from the start of Term 2.”

A pause to reflect, and Darren continues: “Then there’s the new science room in Primary, the new learners pool which will open early in 2016, the refurbished instrumental music rooms… wow, there’s so much more we can do!”

Good luck Darren!
