In external events our Regents Lions have roared their way into the medals through-out the year. At the U15 FOBISIA Games in Suzhou China the U15 team started the year off in winning ways gaining 1st place in Athletics, with the U15 boy’s football team also winning Gold.
The Regents cross-country team took victory at both Eastern Seaboard events, absolutely dominating the podium across the age range at the St Andrews events, which saw the largest travelling Regents team of over 80 students from the secondary school.
The Regents Lions swim team sent their largest contingent ever to the FOBISIA Swimming Championships in Phuket achieving 120 new P.B’s. The senior girl’s football team yet again set the Phuket Tournament alight making the semi-finals before rain stopped play.
Not to be overshadowed the senior boys’ basketball team gained the bronze medal at the Senior Invitational Games, hosted at Regents.
Our young sailors, sailed their way to victory at their first FOBISIA Championships hosted by Regents at the Royal Varuna Yacht club in March. At the U13 FOBISIA Games in Penang the U13 boys gained bronze medals in both the football and basketball competitions.
Our Regents golfers continue to go from strength to strength picking up numerous awards through the season, supported by our new golf scholarship scheme.
To finish the year on a high Pauly and Sophie both won gold at the U13 girls and boys Regents duathalon event this June. What a year it has been; rounded off by the fantastic Sports Awards Dinners for our very deserving young Lions. The U13 Sports Awards Dinner was the final calendared event of the year for the PE team held at the Cholchan hotel. It was a fantastic night of celebration and a great way to end the year.
The PE Department would like to thank all the parents, teachers and coaching staff for their hard work and commitment, a special big thank and congratulations must go to our young Lions and we look forward to the start of next season!
