The U15/Senior Sports Awards Evening held at the Holiday Inn Hotel on Friday 26 April was a wonderful celebration of all the achievements our Secondary Regents Lions have accomplished so far this year.
After enjoying a wide spread international food buffet, students, parents and staff members settled down for the main event - the prize giving ceremony.
Mr Michael Harrowell, Assistant Head of Secondary, said:
"Sport at Regents continues to go from strength to strength and our teams are now a force to be reckoned with both at local level in the ESAC leagues and at FOBISIA competitions.
This year the Under 15 team had a particularly amazing FOBISIA tournament finishing in medal positions in athletics, football and basketball.
At the Senior Games, we medaled in all four competitions and showed ourselves to be extremely competitive in a tough competition."
Awards were given out to recognise distinguished individuals in our Regents Lions football, basketball, athletics, swimming, sailing and golf teams; which were split into categories including 'most valuable player', 'most improved player', 'clubman/woman', 'players player', and 'athlete of the year'.
The event then closed with an award given for team of the year and the U15 and Senior Regents Lion award, given to an exceptional performer who also displays outstanding commitment and is an ambassador of sport at the Regents.
Well done, Lions, for always giving it your all and making Regents proud! A huge thank you to the PE team for hosting this brilliant event.
