Michelle Gillmore

Head of Girls' Boarding

Michelle holds a BA (Hons) in Spanish Studies and has a PGCE in TESOL and Modern Languages.

Her career started at Ratcliffe College where after a successful teaching placement, she was appointed as Head of EFL. In 1999, she moved to Switzerland with her husband Peter and took up the post of Housemistress and EFL Co-ordinator. On her return to the UK, she was appointed as Head of a Senior Girls’ Boarding House. In 2010, she was appointed as Head of Spanish at the British International School, Ho Chi Minh City. In 2015, she took up the post of Head of EAL at the Al Ain English Speaking School, in the UAE. In 2017, she was appointed as Head of Alexandra House, a senior girls’ boarding house at the Royal Alexandra and Albert School, Reigate.

Michelle is excited about the prospect of returning to SE Asia and working within boarding as Head of Girls’ Boarding at Regents. Michelle believes in the importance of a holistic education that caters for the individual student alongside their moral, social and cultural education. It is her philosophy that education consists of more than a transmission of knowledge and the curriculum in the classroom and that the boarding environment has to allow each individual to develop further and reach their potential in all areas.

In her free time, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
