Her career began in Portsmouth in 2009 where she taught in two different Primary Schools and undertook a variety of both academic and pastoral leadership roles and developed links with local businesses and charities such as Portsmouth Football Club and Help for Heroes. She also introduced dance as an enrichment programme at her schools and successfully choreographed several Global Rock Challenge performances, with all of her teams receiving national awards for Student Leadership.
In 2013, Gemma was recommended to become a Lead Practitioner of Teaching and Learning for Portsmouth. Instead, she decided to begin her international career as Curriculum and Academics Manager at a school in Beijing, which is where she began to fall in love with Asia.
In 2015, Gemma arrived in Thailand with the role of Literacy and Creative Curriculum Leader at Bromsgrove International School. She was then promoted to Head of Lower Boarding (Years 3 to 9) and Assistant Principal Whole School Business Development, where she continued to develop as a leader and a manager, whilst also teaching in Primary on a part time basis.
Gemma now feels honoured to make the move to Regents International School Pattaya as Year 2 Teacher and Head of Primary English and is looking forward to continuing to help the Primary School grow and develop whilst also experiencing all the different activities and events on offer.
Outside of school, Gemma enjoys reading and being by the sea as well as travelling around Asia making memories with her friends and family.
