We do this because we believe in high levels of challenge, and also because we know that taking one examination out of the regular pattern provides students with more time to focus on their other IGCSE exams at the end of Year 11 and thereby achieve even greater success.
Undertaking examinations early is a significant challenge, but it is one we have found that the students always rise to. Once again, we are delighted to be able to report some outstanding results.
In June 2013 one group of Year 10 students sat their IGCSE Maths a year early, gaining excellent results:
100% achieved A*/A
:: 14 A* grades and 1 A grade
In January of this year a second group of students sat their IGCSE Mathematics 6 months early and have obtained another set of tremendous results:
94% achieved A*/A
:: 8 A* grades, 7 A grades and 1 B grade
Nearly half of the year group have taken their IGCSE Mathematics early and 97% have achieved an A or A* grade.
In addition to these excellent results, all these students have been able to start the International Baccalaureate Mathematics course early which further increases their chances of producing equally outstanding results in their IB Diploma in the coming years.
We are extremely proud of the achievements of these students, and also proud of the hard work and support that has been provided by the Mathematics teachers. Congratulations to all the students involved, we looking forward to equally impressive results across all subjects in the summer exams.
