Orientation Day Success

22 August 2014

We welcomed families from all over the world, from New Zealand to the Netherlands, South Africa to South America and just about everywhere in between. One dad described the school as, “a real United Nations”, and with sixty nationalities represented here, he’s not far off.

The morning started with an address for new families from Principal Patrick Horne who introduced our teaching staff and encouraged new families to enjoy the day and get to know our campus and have a chat with staff and other families. New families were then able to meet the Heads of School and class teachers, and sort out all the school necessities like a visit to meet the Nurse, charging lunch cards, getting library cards, and meeting the Community Group to find out about activities.

Our always energetic Community Group, led by the new Chairperson Jody Dexter, also manned a secondhand uniform stall, kicking off the year’s charity fundraising efforts.

Principal Horne sums up a very successful day saying, “I have spent my day talking to happy people and children who are so excited to start school.”

We look forward to seeing everyone on Monday for the start of Term 1.
