With precious House points awarded for every selfie received, many of our students and teachers ensured their badges were with them wherever they went over the summer. Katherine Wilson, mum of Dylan and Erin, made certain her family’s badges were with them every step of the way, explaining, “I kept them pinned to the inside of my bag the whole summer just in case we had a good selfie opportunity.” And they certainly did, sending selfies from Mauritius and the UK during what looked like a sensational holiday.
There was a rush of entries in the final week of the competition last week, with new entries coming from Austria, Italy, the Netherlands and the USA. We got a particular kick out of some of the group selfies, and two particularly cool selfies from Joshua Butterworth and Sofia Robles who both visited Pisa in Italy over the break and did their bit by helping to hold up the famous leaning tower.
Even Dao House, which had lagged behind in sending selfies, managed to get onto the points tally.
Every selfie received earned the student or teacher’s house five points, and this week, we will be judging the selfies to decide which will receive an additional 50 points for:
- Most exotic destination
- Most creative
- Best use of colour
- Biggest crowd selfie with badges
A grand prize of 100 points will be awarded for the best overall selfie.
The winners and final House tallies will be announced on the Weblog and website on Friday.
