BISS Pudong Students worked collaboratively with students from other Nord Anglia schools, local professionals and Seeway Tanzania to build six goat sheds in the village community at the foot of Mount Meru.
Not only did our students finish the goat shed to a high standard, they continued to build the lady an outside shelter to cook under and boarded up gaps in her house to make it more weather-tight. We even had some help from some of the local children! Not only does this lady now have a sustainable source of milk from the goat but she also has the opportunity to sell goods that she makes. Looking back at our time in Tanzania one of my most fond memories was the look on the elderly lady’s face when she saw our completed build – simply priceless!
