To showcase the students’ hard work and dedication, we decided to host a ‘Night At The Museum’ themed event. This consisted of Year 6 students being dressed as their famous person in various locations around C Block. Upon somebody donating 1RMB, the student would come to life, in character, and provide a monologue for their audience, including dates, achievements and facts about their chosen person.
Students from Junior School, Year 6 parents and various members of staff had the pleasure of meeting and listening to famous people from past and present perform their monologues. The students did an excellent job, demonstrating superb presentation skills, especially considering they were talking for one and a half hours (on average, each child delivered their monologue 25 times!).
This event not only allowed students to demonstrate their learning to fellow students and parents, it also enabled them to raise money for one of our school’s service projects; The Heart to Heart Foundation. In total, we raised 2000RMB, a wonderful effort and a fitting reward for their hard work.
The Year 6 team would like to offer our sincere thanks to the parents, who have supported the students in memorizing their monologues, choosing costumes and coming along to watch the event. We hope that you enjoy looking at the photographs attached and look forward to the event being bigger and better next year.
