Unfortunately the colder weather has meant we have had to cancel our Swim Meet in Nanjing this coming weekend. With snow having already fallen in Nanjing and more on the way, we have decided that for Health and Safety purposes it is best for our students not to travel in such conditions. One group of students that has successfully reached their competition, are our ACAMIS Basketball teams who are currently competing in Beijing. We look forward to hearing how they got on.
Mrs Wallace has not escaped the snow either and this week is in the UK at our annual NAE recruitment event, OTOS – Outstanding Teachers for Outstanding Schools. This is one of the busiest periods of the year for school recruitment and as always we have been inundated with applications for what is, this year, a small number of teaching vacancies at NAIS Pudong. The recruitment process is quite lengthy and will be completed during the summer term.
Congratulations are in order for several of our students from across Primary and Secondary – Henry Luo, Sisi Yang, Nishi Adinamozhi and Valerie Lua have all had their artwork shortlisted as part of the City Weekend Parents and Kids Painting and Photography Competition. Their work is currently being displayed at the Hub shopping mall in Minhang, so if you get the opportunity, please go and have a look at the fantastic pieces of work produced by our students. This weekend there will be a special awards ceremony and category winners will be announced. Good luck to all of our students!
Last but not least, preparations are now being finalized for our Chinese New Year Temple Fair which will take place on Sunday 31st January, from 11am to 3pm. We will be celebrating the Year of the Monkey with a range of crafts and activities for our students, performances throughout the day, as well as some tasty Chinese treats. Please come along to support our event with your family and join the NAIS Pudong community in celebrating this very special time of year.
Wishing you a relaxing weekend.
