English
Next week in English, to complement our topic ‘The circus is coming to town,’ the children will be exploring feelings. We will be learning the oral story, 'Bob the Happy Clown'. The children will learn to tell the story verbatim and they will be introduced to the Talk for Writing actions which can then be used throughout their learning journey at school. By the end of the week the children will write the story themselves and some will be asked to adapt it to make it unique for them!
Please continue to play the high frequency jigsaw puzzle at home and feel free to send us a picture of your child learning outside the classroom.
Maths
The focus in Maths this week, will be on Position and Movement. Children will be introduced to language related to direction, such as: forward, backward, left, right, turn, half-turn, quarter-turn and full-turn.
If you would like to support your child at home with this, please play one of these games

Topic
The focus for this week will be ‘Morality’ as we explore the different emotions which people feel and when they feel them. The children will complete their painting of a clown face and will discuss the different techniques they used to create their image. They will also consider how they and their friends could improve their work further next time.
