We first of all washed our hands, showing an awareness of the importance of hygiene; then we had a quick lesson on how to successfully cut up vegetables. Once the vegetables had been sliced, we then launched into the fun part of this activity, wrapping up our spring rolls! The children wrapped up their chicken filling (this was optional) rice noodles and vegetables into the spring roll sheets. They then waited patiently for the oil in the frying pan to sizzle! Miss Lily and Miss Michelle collected the wrapped up spring rolls from each table and Miss Herming added the spring rolls to the frying pan to be cooked. A spring roll usually takes about 4-5 minutes to cook.
Once the spring rolls were cooked, the children had the option to add some flavour by adding chili sauce to their snack. In the Hub there was complete silence; all that is, except the sound of munching! The spring rolls tasted delicious! The children had so much fun in this activity and they cannot wait to get back into the kitchen!
