We will continue to use the Man on the Moon by Simon Bartram as our reading and writing stimulus.

Our learning objectives covered will include:

  • To use capital letters, full stops and question marks
  • To use commas in a list
  • To use the present and past tense correctly
  • To use conjunctions to extend our sentences
  • To develop positive attitudes for writing
  • To develop stamina for writing

This week in maths our focus will be interpreting data.

Our learning objectives covered will include:

  • To interpret data from simple pictograms, tally charts, block diagrams and tables
  • To present data in different forms
  • To ask and answer questions about totaling and comparing data

As artists, we will look at a selection of portraits by the famous artist, Pablo Picasso. Picasso painted in the cubist style, which means he would paint an object or person from many different viewpoints and then put them all together in the same image. It was a reaction against the older, more tradition style of the time.

We will compare Picasso’s portraits - What do we notice about them? What is your opinion? Do you like/dislike them?

Our learning objectives covered will include:

  • To use a variety of materials and processes
  • To suggest ways of improving their own work
  • To comment on works of art
