To lighten the mood a little, Year 13 organised a lunchtime duet competition with star performances from Gabriel, the two Aimées, Emiliano, Lucas, Aleks, Mari, Adriano and even Mrs Howard!
This lunchtime fun was closely followed by a 7-minute workout organised by the student leaders this week. Heart rates were racing and blood was pumping just enough to get our Year 12 students over their postprandial slump and ready for their afternoon lessons.
Before the holidays, parents, teachers and students enjoyed a musical soirée with spectacular instrumental performances from individual students, the IB choir, the Community Choir and the younger students. Once again, the IB Choir never fail to impress with their dedication and commitment, but additionally their enjoyment of performing the work that they have been rehearsing. Clearly Mr Graham is doing much to inspire our young musicians.
Immediately after the performance, our Year 12 students were whisked away to begin their amazing Tanzanian adventure where they spent 7 days. Here our students reportedly surpassed expectation with their positivity and hard work; building smoke-less stoves, installing solar panels, constructing goat sheds and putting up teachers’ accommodation at a local primary school. There was, of course, time for some safari and hiking and we are very proud of the way our students approached this opportunity.
Finally, we hope Year 13 parents can make it to our event next Thursday 14th April for guidance on how to support your children through the examinations.
Higher Education
The Year 12 students are currently focusing on higher education in their Guidance sessions and all have been allotted a 45 minute one-to-one interview to discuss their ideas and options.
Monday 18th April – Oxford and Nottingham Universities will come to NAIS Pudong to introduce students to their programmes and admissions systems.
