Information and Reminders
As part of our new IPC Topic 'Time Travelers’ we are looking for parents to come into school to talk to the children about their first cinema experience. If you are available next week and would be willing to share your experience, please contact your child's class teacher.

Early Years and Infant Coffee Morning: Wednesday 13th April, 9:00am - 10:00am

Please don’t forget to complete the re-registration form which was emailed to all families on Friday 25th March. This helps us to begin organising our classes for next year. Even if you are not sure of your intentions yet for next academic year, please do let us know as then we can ensure your school place is held until you can give us final confirmation.

In English this week, the children will be conducting an interview with some of the Year 1 parents about their first cinema experience. They will take notes during the presentation to use in their writing. They will use this information to identify similarities and differences between their own cinema experience and those of the parents and their peers.

This week, we will be exploring and investigating capacity and weight. The children will be given the opportunity to make estimations and use standard and non-standard measures to weigh a range of objects. The week will conclude with solving different measurement problems.

Revision will be completed of the 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables as well as recognition of doubling numbers.

The Personal Goal we will be focusing on this week is 'Enquiry'.

As we continue our study of filmography, the children will be looking into the past to investigate what the word 'film' really means.

As ‘Historians', the children will create a timeline of how film has evolved over time. They will explore cave drawings to virtual reality images. The children will order and sequence a range of films and explain their ideas using specific vocabulary related to the passing of time.
