I have been particularly impressed with our CCA Musical Theatre students, many of whom are making their stage debuts, having done no previous acting, let alone stage movement with singing combined! Throughout the concert there will be a variety of music from various musicals, including Les Miserables, Wicked, The Sound of Music and Oliver, to name a few, as well as some recognisable tunes from the movies. There will also be a drama skit done in a way the audience may not be expecting….
Come and join us in supporting and witnessing the hard work and commitment the students have put in to rehearsing for this concert. We in the Arts Department look forward to seeing you; there is no cost for admission, refreshments available from 6.30pm with the concert starting at 7pm.
Looking forward to the week after next, we see our third visit from Andrea Lee from Juilliard. Andrea will visit a Year 1 class, and give some demonstrations to Years 4, 5 and 6 Music classes. She will also be spending some time working with our school cellists and having lunch with a selected group of pupils from Years 5-7. We are looking forward to her final visit for this year and also to hearing her perform once again.
This week has also seen the start of the big rehearsals for the Horrible Histories production, with the Year 3 classes in to show what they have been doing. Mr. Bradshaw, Mr. Trayte and I were really impressed with what they had managed to do. There are some fantastic young actors and actresses in our school who will really benefit from this production. We are looking forward to seeing just what the remaining years have to offer.
