Mock Trials in Year 9 History

Year 9C has just completed their studies of the Holocaust. The culmination of their studies was a mock trial of the main perpetrators, where we tried and prosecuted: Hitler, the SS, the German public, and the Allies.

The students approached this sensitive and complex trial with maturity and intelligence, as they investigated the evidence and reached a verdict for all of the accused. This was the end of a 3-month unit on the Holocaust, where they have learned about: the history of Anti-Semitism, Nazi policies to the Jews, persecution of other minorities, resistance groups, personal accounts and case studies.

I have been continually impressed by the level of understanding and enthusiasm this class shows for their history studies.
