To take part in the championships, the students log on to the competition’s website any time they like, as often as they like, between the 16th and the 26th May. Once logged on, they choose a language and answer vocabulary and grammar questions in that language. The beauty of it is that our students can use the languages they are learning with us (French, German, Mandarin and Spanish), or they can use their own language or even try a new one!
The eligible languages are: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Indonesian, Malay, Maori, Russian and Spanish.
At the time of writing, our top student in the championships is Minato Kuba in Year 7, who right now is 14th out of the 654 Nord Anglia students who entered. But the scoreboard is continually updated live, so check this link to see if he’s moved up: Nord Anglia Scoreboard. Depending on their level of achievement, students will go into draws for very cool prizes such as a computer, phone, itunes vouchers or iPod nanos.
Globally, at the moment our school is in 301st place out of the total 1201, so not too bad! But can we get higher? If your child signed up for our Language Perfect team, encourage them to join in during spare time at home – it certainly counts as language-learning and revision too!
