Letter from the Director of Music and The Arts - 26th May 2016

26 May 2016

This week in Music sees us welcome back Andrea Lee, our Juilliard curriculum specialist, for her third and final visit of this academic year. Andrea has been performing for the Year 6 class and also gave them lots to discuss on different ways that the cello makes sounds and how those sounds can help change the mood of a piece of music. She will also be working with our Year 4s and 5s on Friday. Also on Friday, Andrea will hold a cello workshop with all of our cellists at school. They will certainly enjoy this fantastic experience I am very certain, pictures to follow!

Next weekend, we will have our final performance of the year at the school Summer Fun Day. Letters have been sent home, as per normal, via the CCA contact list and they contain the link for the online form. Could I please ask parents to fill in this form as it is vital that we know who will be attending the performances. The choirs that are involved will be Rainbow Review, Cantabella and Senior Vocal Group. I look forward to seeing you all there for this performance.

Horrible Histories rehearsals continue to take shape and we have been so impressed, not only with the effort our pupils are putting in, but the breadth of talent we have across Years 3-6.
