English
In English this week, to complement our new IPC topic 'Our World', the children will receive a special cryptic message which they will need to decipher. They will write a recount about the experience and how they unravelled the message. The children will read the story 'UFO Diary' from the perspective of an alien. Following on from this, they will write an account of what their world looks like for an alien.
Mathematics
The Mathematics skill we will be concentrating on this week is multiplication. The children will revisit reading, recording and interpreting arrays.
They will use this knowledge to create their own multiplication number sentences using arrays.
Topic
The Personal Goal we will be focusing on this week is 'Enquiry.'
This week, the children will begin their final IPC topic 'Our World.' The entry point will begin with a treasure hunt. They will need to investigate and explore a range of objects to find out what their first task entails.
As 'Geographers', they will use this information to create their own maps in which they will begin to use and understand how to use simple coordinates.
