All of our Pre-nursery gathered together with their mums, dads, aunts, uncles and grandparents for a very special Teddy Bears’ Picnic in order for us to share our Bear topic. Unfortunately, due to rain, the picnic could not be held as planned with fun and games on the sports field, but the rain did not stop any of the fun. The children and their families were able to enjoy a range of games and activities together in the Pre-Nursery classrooms followed a by a delicious picnic in the Early Years Sports Hall.
The activities started off with the children singing songs about bears and giving a wonderful retelling of the popular children’s story ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen for their parents. Next up, many of the parents joined in with the Gummy Bear dance before enjoying activities with their children. One of the favourite activities was ‘Feed the Hungry Bear’ where the bear got really full on the beanbags that the children threw into his mouth. There was also fun in the sand searching for bears, ‘Bear Skittles’ and ‘Pin the Bowtie on the Bear’ and many other activities for parents to share with their children.
Everyone had a beary wonderful time!
