This went a step further on Tuesday when our Year 6 students spent a day experiencing some of the exciting lessons that they will have in their Year 7 timetables. Year 6 students created colourful flames in a chemistry lesson, learnt about abstract images in an art lesson, experienced the Tower of Terror in Drama, created spinning discs in Design and Technology and studied Disaster Management in Geography. Our Year 6 students were taught by our specialist subject teachers, had to follow a timetable and move from classroom to classroom.
Our current Year 7 students also shared their experiences with our Year 6 students, hosting an assembly where they talked about the differences between Year 6 and Year 7, covering things such as timetables, homework, teachers and classrooms. Year 6 students then broke into groups to learn more about their exciting move into Year 7.
We can’t wait to see our prepared and ready Year 6 students starting Year 7 in August!
