After the formalities of the Cap and Gown Graduation two weeks ago, it was wonderful to share with our graduating Year 13 students their very special Graduation Dinner last Friday evening at the Fairmont Peace Hotel. The rain held off just long enough for the pre-dinner gathering on the rooftop terrace where some truly stunning photos were taken, before we all enjoyed a delicious meal and truly heartfelt speeches from the graduates. It is clear they are a close-knit group who will treasure their time at NAIS Pudong together.
Next week is a slightly shorter week at school as Thursday is Dragon Boat holiday and school is closed for the public holiday. Please do spare a thought though for many of our students who will still be in school sitting their IGCSE exams.
As we prepare for the end of the year, a reminder that reports go out during the final week. It is not possible to issue these earlier by individual request so, if for whatever reason you leave ahead of the final day, we will arrange for these to be scanned and sent to you, with originals available from the school secretaries who will be working throughout the summer.
There may be only three weeks until the end of term, but there is still much to look forward to, with the Primary school year in review, Horrible Histories and learning beyond the classroom, plus many more events. A personal favourite of mine is next weeks’ farewell luncheon, once again expertly organised by the Community Group, where our school parents get together for one more fantastic gathering, to celebrate another end of the year, and of course wish those families who end their time in Shanghai a fond farewell. I look forward to seeing many of you there.
