Preparations for our Summer School Musical are well underway and all of our children, from the youngest to the oldest, are spending their days learning the words to the songs and singing their hearts out. It really is quite joyous listening to the beautiful music they are making and our end of school concert is bound to be a toe-tapping and thoroughly entertaining event indeed. The performance will take place on Friday the 22nd of July and all our Summer School parents are invited.
Additionally, our students have spent the week being highly creative. We have been using water colours to paint landscapes and dinosaurs, plus we have been making some ingenious origami creations. Using string, wool, and buttons, we have created mini tapestries – and many have been solving puzzles and playing computer games that require critical thinking and lots of co-operation and teamwork.
For sports, we have enjoyed the football academy, run by Mr Mark Keenan who has shown our students how to develop their soccer skills and footwork. We have also been playing table tennis, and the students have learned dances and yoga movements to help keep fit and healthy.
Plus, during our language lessons, we have been learning phonics, parts of speech and verb tenses through classes that involve speaking, listening, writing and reading.
It really has been a most fun and active time indeed, and we look forward to another terrific week at NAIS Pudong Summer School.
