Information and Reminders
We are delighted to announce that Mr. and Mrs. Finan have become parents for the second time, welcoming baby Maya Mei Finan into the world on Monday afternoon. I’m sure all parents will join me in wishing good health and happiness to the Finan family.
Please be reminded to submit your child’s information via https://form.jotform.com/naispudong/projectweek2016 if you have not already done so. 51 out of 60 families have now submitted their child’s details.
All parents are invited to visit school next week to participate in our International Week. Volunteers could tell a native story, share international produce from another country, or create some local artwork. Please contact your child’s class teacher to arrange.

English
In English we will finish our narrative writing unit by writing our own stories in a genre of the students’ choice. We will practice the features which make good fiction writing, such as characterisation, plot structure, withholding information and more.
For parents of those students who have been given banded reading books, please remind your child to return them to school when the books have been finished, to enable us to swap for fresh titles. Thank you to those who have shared in their child’s learning by listening to them read or asked questions about the text.
Maths
In mathematics we will be working on calculation. Students will carry out calculations involving a mixture of operations, including multi-step word problems. We will strengthen and consolidate short and long form multiplication, multiplying four-digit numbers by two-digit numbers. We will continue to record evidence of our students’ journey to mastering.
Topic
We will be using our Topic lesson time to celebrate International Week. We will be sharing presentations and videos about different countries; parents are very welcome to volunteer. Later in the week we will be having our Parade of Nations, International Food Fair, and school treasure hunt. We know students will learn a lot and have plenty of fun.
Our AD900 unit will be paused until after the half term break.
