Principal's Message

24 November 2017

This week we had the pleasure of hosting our Nord Anglia Education Director, Mr. Andrew Puttock, who visited the school and met our wonderful students. During his full day with us, Mr. Puttock had the opportunity to drop into classes and see learning taking place first hand. He also met with both the Primary Student Council and a select group of Secondary students to hear their views about being part of a Nord Anglia School He left at the end of the day feeling enthused and excited about everything he saw and heard. The positive feedback he received included comments about the high quality learning, excellent engagement with teachers and students, and the ethos and sense of school pride from everyone he met. Whilst he already knew from our high academic results that we were a fantastic school, he felt a sense of what it means to be a pupil at NAIS Pudong and was inspired by the great things taking place.

As a leader in the school I always feel inspired by our students, and today was especially full of zest and energy as we received news that four of our seven applicants have been invited to interviews at Oxbridge. This is truly an exceptional opportunity! You can read their stories on Facebook and we will certainly keep you updated on their journeys.

As we break for the weekend, we wish our American families a Happy Thanksgiving and hope the weekend provides time to celebrate with loved ones. It is that time of the year again, when we start looking ahead to our Christmas celebrations. If you are around the Kerry Parkside this evening, you will hear our Senior Vocal Group performing. And, if you happen to be around the school, look out for what will be the centrepiece of our evening Christmas event this year. We will be hosting a new look outdoor German market-style event; complete with activities, stalls, food, drinks and performances. Remember to save the date Friday 8th December 5.30-8.30pm as you will not want to miss it!
