Information and Reminders
Thank you for supporting our students to wear their school uniform with pride. Please can you help us to ensure that our students wear the correct uniform, in particular black, leather shoes and not trainers. Students should also wear an appropriate school jumper or cardigan over their polo shirt if they wish to wear an extra layer. We will be having school photos shortly and children must be in the correct school uniform.

English
In English next week we will look at non-fiction texts, specifically linked to travel and tourism. We will look at advertisements selling holiday destinations, and focus specifically on the type of language used; the layout of the advertisements and use of punctuation. We will compare the effectiveness of different advertisements, considering which we feel are most effective.
Spelling: Words containing the letter string ‘ible’ and ‘able’
Maths
Next week we will be using our calculation skills to enable us to understand space. We will by calculating the area and perimeter of a variety of shapes and real life objects. We will be recalling our knowledge of units of measure and then converting between them during real life problems. As always we will be asking the children to explain their thinking and how they have answered the questions.
Topic
This week we starting a new topic called – ‘The Holiday Show’. This topic is all about the biggest industry in the world – Tourism and it enables the children to ask many questions such as – what is a responsible tourist? We will start the week, with our Entry Point where the children have prepared a presentation on their parent’s country. Towards the end of week we will be looking at the kind of holidays people choose to go on.
