English
Next week is Shakespeare Week. Our text is ‘As you like it’, which has been added to Class Dojo. We will research William Shakespeare to write a fact file. We create our own comic strip of the story, write a newspaper report about the wedding and a letter written from the point of view from a character. In Guided Reading the children will act out the story and the best group performance will perform in the assembly. There will be a range of school activities throughout the week as well as a homework task to complete.
Maths
Next week we will end our unit ‘Measuring Space’. We will focus on ‘Capacity’. We will use measuring vessels to measure a volume of liquid, compare the volume and capacity of two or more objects and choose appropriate units to state the result of a measurement. At the end of the week we will all work together to take part in a range of measuring activities.
Topic
In Geography we will look at different time zones and Facetime someone in a different time zone to Shanghai. As Artists, we will paint a space themed picture in the style of artist Peter Thorpe, using an abstract art background and space feature in the foreground. In Society we will look at different light festivals and then identify relevant information to make notes.
Computing
We will continue to create an opinion poll for the School Council on an issue they want feedback on from the children in the school, e.g. lunchtime. We will then seek responses from children across the school and then analyse the results by creating graphs. We will link our results to our Maths work the following week.
