Overview of next week’s learning
Term 3 will begin with an Under the Sea Dress-up day on Thursday 13th April as an exciting starter for our new topic Under the Sea. Children will be able to dress as their favourite sea creature, pirate mermaid, or other imaginary sea creatures.
As part of our Literacy learning the children will begin to learn to retell the story of The Rainbow Fish by Marcy Pfister using some of the Talk4write strategies the children have already learnt. The children will also explore the new letter sound ‘a’, as well as recapping what they already know about the sound ‘s’, through turn-taking games and sorting activities.
In maths the children will begin to create different sea creatures using 2D shapes, as well as explore the outdoor areas using viewfinders to look for different shapes in the environment. The children will also be asked to count how many of each shape they see and then attempt to write the correct numeral.
