Before the holidays I wrote to you about some of the exciting plans for the year ahead. This week during ARE’s, we launched a number of presentations on changes to EY and Primary for next year. Throughout the week, myself, Mr Scrymgeour and Mrs Keenan have been pouring over architects drawings as this exciting project starts to come to life. It’s just one of the many projects we have on the go. It’s certainly full STEAM ahead preparing for our MIT launch as our students head off in the coming weeks to the Cambridge Science fair, followed by members of the teaching staff for professional training from the world leading experts in the field of science and engineering.
As we move into next week, you will also have the opportunity to meet the new Head of Secondary, Mr Andrew Joy, as well as meeting key stakeholders. Mr Joy invites you to a workshop (1 pm, Wednesday 26th April, The Hive), where he will be looking at how student mindset affects academic performance. He will be exploring what the school, parents and the students themselves can do in order to develop the kind of mindset that can lead to success. I look forward to seeing as many parents as possible in this session. Please also check out our new look website to keep regularly updated on other events in the school.
There is so much going on you don’t want to miss out. This weekend sees our very first Curry and Quiz Night -- it’s all in the name of great community group causes and fun, so don’t worry if you don’t have a team (or if you never experienced a traditional quiz night before), come along and enjoy the fun!
