In English, the children will continue their focus on poetry. They will analyse, evaluate and compare these, choosing their favourites and discussing their preferences with their classmates. They will select poems to learn by heart, and will use the work of Michael Rosen to inspire non-rhyming performance poems. Students will draw on their memories of the past year to come up with poetry ideas of their own.
Focus: Performing a poem learnt by heart; Appreciating and enjoying a range of text types
Mathematics
In Mathematics, we will finish our year by drawing on skills from the past year to complete team challenges and solve problems. Faced with mysteries, treasure hunts and quizzes, we will work collaboratively to revise and share our understanding of all that we have learnt this year.
Topic
In topic, the children will be completing their work on Galileo. We then be researching space explorations in the 21st Century - particularly explorations to Mars and the search for minerals on the moon. We will then be reviewing and celebrating the achievements of the past year!
