The range of creative opportunities that Early Years students can discover in our setting are numerous and expansive and include arts and crafts, music and movement, dramatic and role-play, block play and construction. We make sure that our environment is set up to provide access to amazing, engaging creative materials, so the children can explore painting, tinkering, junk modelling, collage and all manner of crafting to build their skills and imaginations. Our dedicated Creative Areas are full of paintbrushes and painting tools, papers and cards, clays and doughs, stamps, glues, buttons, fabrics and yarns, glitter and gems, sticks, stones, wood and scissors. These are set up for children to discover and choose independently so that they can take part in unstructured, open-ended projects, as well as offered through carefully planned teacher-led activities. This is one of our most popular areas of provision, always full of busy children carefully selecting things that are of interest to them and expressing themselves through their making and doing. Here they are free to concentrate, collaborate and sit at the table or floors to finish their work in our bright open spaces.
