    Pre-nursery Teacher

    Sarah Magee

    Sarah graduated from Surrey University with a Batchelor of Arts (Hons) in Music and Education and completed her PGCE Early Years at Sunderland University. Additionally, she has undertaken TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) to Level 5 and achieved both DipABRSM (Instrumental Teaching) and LRSM (Music Performance).

    Following her graduation, Sarah established and operated an Early Years Unit in Gloucestershire (UK), before moving to Australia where she worked as a Primary Music Teacher and led the Junior (6 – 14) Lifesaving Programmes at Mount Martha Lifesaving Club (MMLSC). Sarah has taught within our Early Years since 2018 and has developed our Pre-Nursery Provision.

    Sarah has an enthusiasm and passion for music in Early Years education. She loves how it ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language and overall literacy, helping the body and mind work together as a team and enable children to explore and discover their full potential.

    Nursery Class Teacher

    Robyn Britz

    Robyn qualified with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at KwaZulu Natal University, South Africa. She continued with the University of South Africa to acquire a PGCE and subsequently an Honours degree in Psychology, specialising in child development.  Robyn is also a qualified Learn to Swim instructor.

    After ten years of various interesting work experiences, including cruise ships and London adventures, Robyn taught English in Taiwan for a year. She then returned to South Africa and taught Reception in Cape Town for seven years until arriving in Shanghai in 2015.

    Robyn has been with NAIS Pudong for three years teaching the Pre-Nursery class. She is excited about moving into Reception in the new year. The move to Shanghai has provided an insight into Education trends globally and Nord Anglia University has provided Robyn with further understanding and techniques to effectively teach young international students.

    Kelly-Ann Downs

    Kelly graduated in 2005 from the University of Cumbria, with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education and a specialist focus in the Advanced Study of Early Years. She is extremely passionate about teaching and has a special interest in early childhood development and child centred learning. 

    After graduating, Kelly began her career as a teacher in Kent, where she taught for eight years across the Early Years Foundation Stage and Year One. During this time she was subject leader for RE across the school and for English across lower primary. After many years considering a move overseas to teach in an international context, Kelly joined the Nord Anglia family in 2012, teaching across Early Years at BIS Abu Dhabi and whilst there held the role of FS1 leader and Deputy Head of Early Years for a large team.

    Nichole Henderson

    Nursery Class Teacher

    Nichole Henderson

    Nichole is originally from the United States, but has spent the last 20 years living and working in Beijing, China. Nichole has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and followed this by qualifying to teach in the Early Years age groups. She began her career at the International Montessori School of Beijing in 2001 and joins us from the founding team of Dulwich College Beijing’s Foundation Stage, where she was most recently a Nursery Class Teacher. 

    Nichole is passionate about providing the best start in every child’s learning journey. Last year her very first pupils graduated and went on to prestigious universities and she has felt it a privilege to have planted the seeds of that success. It is her belief that positive relationships are at the heart and foundation of building a love of learning and is committed to supporting the growth and development of every unique student.
