During the final year of her Mathematics degree from the University of Leicester, Laura undertook a module on communicating maths which sparked a passion for education and inspired her to gain her teaching qualification. Laura then taught in London across Key Stage 2, organising many whole school projects, such running a careers week, to prepare children for their futures and begin equipping them with the knowledge and skills they need to achieve their goals. She specialised in working with children who had Special Educational Needs across all ages and provided intervention and support to progress their speech and language.
Laura joined NAIS Pudong in 2019 and values the school community and the passion that goes into providing an engaging curriculum. Laura’s vision is to provide children with an all-encompassing education that gives them not just knowledge of the core subjects, but also an understanding of the wider world and prepares them for adulthood. With this, she is a big fan of our Global Campus and connecting her students with their peers across our NAE family of schools around the world.
Laura grew up in London and has lived there throughout her life. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the theatre, visiting art galleries and finding new restaurants. For rainy days, she likes reading novels and listening to podcasts. She has enjoyed her first year in Shanghai and spends much of her free time exploring the city; learning more about the culture and practising her Mandarin.
