Teacher of PE and International Award
Mark completed his PGCE with the University of Sunderland, England. Prior to moving with his family to Shanghai to take up his position at NAIS Pudong, he lived and taught in Abu Dhabi for thirteen years, five of those at our Nord Anglia Education sister school, BIS Abu Dhabi. Having worked for Nord Anglia Education before, it was an easy decision for him to join NAIS Pudong in 2015 as he believes in the global learning philosophy and approach to education adopted by NAE. Mark believes in the importance of encouraging all children to be ambitious and supporting them to be the best that they can be as well as opening the door for students to become global citizens. Mark has an extensive knowledge of teaching PE throughout different year groups from Early Years Foundation Stage to Secondary. Additionally, he has completed his FA Football Coaching Certificates and has coached youth teams for nearly twenty years. Mark also leads the Duke of Edinburgh International Award within the school and has implemented a successful program for students in Years 10, 11 and 12; with many of his students completing the Gold level of the program.
In his personal time, Mark enjoys spending quality time with his family. He is passionate about sports and is a keen triathlete, completing his first full Ironman race in England in 2019. Mark also enjoys playing football and attending the gym.
