Secondary Music Teacher
Bevan is a passionate IB practitioner. In addition to his roles at the school he is a member of the IB Asia Pacific Educator Network as a professional development workshop leader for Theory of Knowledge, IB Music, CAS, Approaches to Learning and Extended Essay. He also visits schools across the Asia Pacific Region as an IB Quality Assurance visiting team member providing professional feedback and guidance on provision and implementation. In his capacity as Head of Secondary he aims to apply much of this experience to ensuing that excellent academic and pastoral provision continues to be a focus of the Secondary School. The interdisciplinary, conceptual and inquiry-based approach as outlined by the IB paradigm now informs his professional practice at all levels and in all subject areas. Not only has Bevan’s involvement with the IB transformed his professional approach; he believes it has also shaped his ethical and personal values as he endeavours to cultivate and model the learner profile qualities in all spheres of his life.

Teacher of Music
Mia is a professional violinist/violist and passionate about holistic music education. She holds a Masters degree in performance and completed her thesis on holistic education in violin pedagogy. She has trained extensively as holistic music educator, including courses and workshops with the founder of the Colourstrings violin method, Gèza Szilvay, and with the head of the International Kodály Institute, James Cuskelly. Mia has more than ten years of teaching and performing experience and was a permanent member of the KwaZulu-Natal Philharmonic Orchestra in South Africa. She has performed in prestigious venues in South Africa, Germany, Spain and Lebanon and has collaborated with artists such as Joshua Bell (international soloist), Pieter Schoeman (concert master of London Philharmonic Orchestra), and Rèka Szilvay (professor at Sibelius Academy). Mia is a founding member and Head of Junior Strings of the esteemed Annual Gauteng Chamber Music Festival in South Africa.
Mia finds that the educational philosophy of Nord Anglia aligns with her expertise as holistic music educator, and as such has chosen to be part of a school which not only excels in academics, but honours the importance of the arts in the education of young pupils. Nord Anglia's emphasis on excellence is highlighted by the collaboration with esteemed institutions such as Juilliard, to ensure pupils receive world-class music education.
Enrico graduated from the Bonporti Conservatory in Trento and brings with him a wealth of musical and educational experience that he is passionate about sharing with aspiring musicians. He began his musical journey at the age of four and while training as a musician, won a number of national and international competitions and was twice invited to perform at the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence.
His role as a music educator has been diverse. Enrico has taught at the Tartini Conservatory in Trieste as a lecturer in keyboard accompaniment. His work as a music academic also resulted in collaborations with the Teatro degli Asinelli Drama Company and stints as a composer and teacher of harmony. In 2003, Enrico decided to pursue a career as a music teacher in international schools moving first to Kuwait and then to Hong Kong where he has spent the last twelve years.
