Kelly is a passionate educator who has been teaching for over 20 years in Australia, England, Vietnam and China. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Education obtained from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University, where she majored in Art. She has taught within the Nord Anglia Education family previously at; The British International School Vietnam, The British International School Puxi, The British International School Beijing and the Nord Anglia International School, Hong Kong.
Kelly has taught across all year levels in the primary sector, as well as being a specialist art teacher. She has enjoyed leading collaborative teams through a variety of diverse roles; Year 4 and 5 Leader, Key Stage 2 Leader and Art Curriculum Leader, Global Campus and STEAM Leader. Kelly has a passion for the creative arts, STEAM, and digital technology, which is embedded in her teaching philosophy and practice.
Kelly’s vision in education is to promote and foster a stimulating, dynamic, global learning environment where students are challenged to think beyond the classroom, to utilise modern technologies and resources and to think outside the box, pushing the boundaries through innovation and design.
Kelly’s stand out experiences in education are many and include working with students to innovate and learn new skills at STEAM festivals, oranising Year 6 graduation ceremonies and leading large international residential trips of 100 students or more. Kelly is well known for amazing displays and enhancing the visual learning environment. She also enjoys adding her creative flare to extra-curricular events such as teaching STEAM and art based CCAs, writing scripts and designing props and costumes for productions and developing the art curriculum content to include hands on innovative lesson content.
