  • Carla Hambleton

    Carla Hambleton

    Year 3 Teacher

    Carla Hambleton

Carla has worked at a school, just outside of Greater Manchester, for the last three and a half years since she graduated with a BA Hons Primary Education form Edge Hill University. In this time, she has taught in both Year 3 and Year 6.  She found working in these year groups equally exciting and rewarding for different reasons. In Year 3, she enjoyed teaching a range of new concepts that excite, engage and challenge children in a stimulating and nurturing classroom environment. In year 6, Carla enjoyed the challenge of bridging any gaps in knowledge, getting the children to achieve their goals (academically and personally) and preparing them mentally and physically for their next step of their learning journey. She is excited to be teaching Year 3 again and looks forward to being a part of the school community and providing opportunities to the students at NAIS.

  • Emma Styles

    Emma Styles

    Year 3 Teacher

    Emma Styles

Growing up in Hong Kong and Dubai along with teaching English as a Second language in Sri Lanka, Emma knew she would eventually teach internationally, so when the opportunity arose to work in a place as exciting as Shanghai in a school as impressive as NAIS Pudong, Emma knew she could not pass it up. Emma graduated with an English Literature and Drama degree from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2015 and completed her PGCE in Primary Education with a specialism in English in 2016. She began her teaching career in a small Primary school in the South East of England, teaching Year 3 and leading the History and Geography department. Due to her high level of interest towards the performing arts, Emma ran drama, choir, dance and cheer. Although Emma enjoyed teaching in the UK, the prospect of teaching at a school as highly regarded and respected as NAIS Pudong was extremely exciting and one she can’t wait to experience. Emma is keen to create a classroom full of learning and to inspire her students to develop their confidence to have the best year possible.
