Jane Haskins

Jane Haskins

Head of English

Prior to joining NAIS Pudong, for four years Jane has worked as the Deputy Head in a British Secondary school in the Czech Republic; this position was extremely rewarding and exciting for her as she was able to work with the whole staff, student and parent body. For the last eighteen years, Jane's passion has always been the implementation of excellent teaching and learning and building positive relationships with her students and colleagues. At NAIS Pudong, she will be leading the English Department where she looks forward to enthusing students about the joys of English language and literature, while working alongside a dedicated and professional team.

Jane has always loved literature; reading, analysing and teaching it for the last eighteen years. Her subject is incredibly important because it is more than just learning a language; it is about learning how to communicate with each other, building empathy, thinking about what is right and what is wrong, and questioning ‘what would happen if?’. Her husband Mark is currently an assistant head in the senior school and her two sons are in primary school at NAIS Pudong.
