Charlotte graduated with a degree in French and German from the University of Warwick, and after graduation worked for Google in Dublin in online advertising, before also completing a Masters in Human Rights. Her love of languages and desire to pass on this passion drove her to qualify as a teacher at the University of Hull, and she has been a Modern Foreign Languages Teacher for ten years now. She has taught French and German at a variety of different ability levels to pupils aged between nine and eighteen, as well as some Primary Spanish. Before moving to Shanghai, Charlotte was Second in Department at an inner-city comprehensive school in Peterborough and is particularly proud of the role she played in arranging the curriculum to prepare for the new GCSE and A Level courses. She particularly enjoys languages trips and has taken part in and led several residential trips to France and Germany.
Charlotte decided to start a career teaching abroad because she and her husband Adam love travelling and experiencing different cultures. They wanted to broaden their horizons and have an adventure, as well as experiencing teaching in a completely different country. Charlotte is very excited to be teaching at NAIS Pudong, as it has a fantastic reputation and ethos.
Charlotte moved to Shanghai with her husband Adam, who is also a teacher at a bilingual school in Pudong. She has many interests, but her main love is music. She enjoys going to live music concerts and festivals, and also plays guitar and sings. She is continuing this in Shanghai and loves getting involved with the music at NAIS Pudong. She also enjoys sailing, and regularly goes on sailing holidays with her family where she crews on yachts in Greece and Croatia.
