Following Jason’s graduation from our IB Programme, he has embarked upon a stellar academic career. He is currently working as a research fellow at the London School of Economics in the field of Environmental Economics. Dr Jason Wong is an applied microeconomist interested in the impact of technology and infrastructure in regional socioeconomic outcomes and environmental decision making. His research focuses on the impact of aviation connectivity on regional economies and innovation, climate change impacts on aviation, and improving international agreements on sectoral emissions reductions. He also conducts field research on electricity infrastructure and energy poverty in India. Dr Wong holds a PhD in Sustainable Development from Columbia University. At Columbia, he was the recipient of the 2017 Presidential Award for Outstanding Teaching and the 2019 Student Speaker for the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences Doctoral Convocation. In 2018, Dr Wong served as one of eight International Parliamentary Fellows from the United States at the German Parliament (Bundestag), where he worked on economic, energy, and transport policy.
