The Science of Art / Art of Science

27 November 2013

If you are in Year 7, 8 or 9 and interested in Science or Art, then this is for you. The Science and Art departments have teamed up for the Key Stage 3 Science of Art / Art of Science house competition.

The overlap between Science and Art is one that is perhaps best immortalized by the work of Leonardo Da Vinci, who is famous in both fields of study for his portrait painting, inventions and studies of human anatomy.

In this competition students are challenged to show the overlap between the two subject areas in any way they wish, this could be a drawing or a sculpture.

If you're interested, talk to your Science or Art teacher. The final entry date is next Monday 2 December and there will be a winner selected from each of  Years 7, 8 and 9. Every entrant will be awarded a merit and the winners of the competition will be awarded a prestigious Golden Microscope award for them to keep. Good luck to all entrants!
