Students competing in the Sports Morning last year
The event will start after at 8:50am after form time and will finish by 12:50pm.
Students will be competing in a range of different sports including races from 100m to 1,500m, high jump, long jump and triple jump, discuss, shot putt and turbo javelin and even some skipping and tug of war!
A sports day booklet will be sent out to all students before the event with further information regarding the timetable of the morning, athletics field plan and a checklist of events and sports kit required.
Students should arrive at school on Thursday in their PE kit and house t-shirts and go straight to the secondary sports hall where they will register.
We anticipate that the weather will be cool but sunny. In addition to wearing PE kit, we strongly advise that students also bring the following items:
- Sun cream
- BISS Puxi fleece jacket
- BISS Puxi tracksuit bottoms
- Rainproof jacket
- Water bottle
Due to the large numbers participating, students cannot store any items in the sports changing rooms during the event. Non-essential items for that day should be left at home or, where space permits, stored in student lockers.
After the sports morning, students will change during lunchtime into their fresh School PE t-shirt and return to normal lessons periods 5 and 6. Individual medal and house trophy presentations will take place during the year group’s respective PE lesson on Friday 31 October.
In the event of adverse weather conditions, sports morning will be cancelled and students will attend their lessons as per a normal Thursday. Students would be informed of this by Wednesday 29 October 2014.
We would love for parents to come and support the children on the day so if you would like to attend, please email firstname.lastname@example.org" style="font-size: 1em; line-height: 1.5;">email@example.com with the subject ‘Y9/Y10 sports morning’ to let us know. Alternatively, you can print out the letter linked to below and return the form to the secondary reception deask by Monday 27 October.
