Pleased to Meet You…Kay Parker

15 October 2014

This week we spoke to Kay Parker, our new Head of Key Stage 1, to find out how she’s settling into our school.

  • Kay Parker, Head of Key Stage 1 at the British International School Shabghai, Puxi

How long have you been at BISS Puxi? I am fairly new to BISS Puxi; I started working here in August this year.

Where were you working before you came to Shanghai? Before coming to Shanghai I taught in a large Primary School in Aylesbury in the UK where I was Assistant Head Teacher and a Year 1 class teacher.

What do you enjoy most about our school? The children are so enthusiastic and keen to learn here. I love working with children and seeing them progress. Seeing children from all over the world work together and learn from each other is great.

What’s your favourite thing about Shanghai so far? I enjoy how diverse the city is. There is so much to do from visiting temples to shopping or spending time in the evening on The Bund with friends. Having only moved to Shanghai recently there is still so much I want to do and see.

Where are you from and what do you miss most from home? I am from Buckinghamshire in the UK. I miss my family and friends and Cadbury’s chocolate!  My sister is sending some out for me.
