Soloists Impress This Weekend

22 October 2014

On Sunday 50 students from across primary and secondary came together to perform in the first Soloists’ Recital of the year. Charlotte Rakowski, Primary Music Coordinator, tells us how it went.

Yet again, this was another fantastic demonstration of the talented musicians that we have in the school. The performances spanned from a singer in Reception all the way up to a clarinettist in Year 12. Everybody tried their hardest and overcame their nerves to produce some high quality performances.

The Soloists’ Recital is a perfect opportunity for anybody to come and perform. The relaxed, yet structured format allows students to perform, regardless of their experience and ability. The audience are very aware that for some students it will be their first performance and for others they want to perfect a piece they have been working on for a long time. It is an exciting experience for all students and a chance for the music department to show off their superstars.

Thank you to everyone who supported this event and the hard work of all the music team, instrumental teachers and students themselves.
